Change element color with the eyedropper tool

How to use the eyedropper tool to sample a color from one element and apply it to text or shapes in Creative Studio.

Written by David Aslanyan

The eyedropper tool lets you pick a color from any object or image and apply it to other elements. It works in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera.

Apply color to text

  1. Open the publication page in editing mode.

  2. Double-click the text box and highlight the text you want to recolor.

  3. Select the eyedropper tool.

  4. Hover over a colored part of another object — the magnifier helps find the exact color.

  5. Click to apply the color to the selected text.

  6. Press Esc to cancel the color picker.

Apply color to shapes

  1. Open the publication page in editing mode.

  2. Click the shape (line, rectangle, oval, or text box fill) you want to recolor.

  3. Select the eyedropper tool.

  4. Hover over the colored part of another object and click to apply.

  5. Press Esc to cancel.
