Better branding personality on your email campaigns

Best practices for aligning your email campaigns with your brand to improve deliverability and reader trust.

Written by Justina Markovic

When you send an email for your organization, you want recipients to read it. For that to happen, your email needs to be delivered and clearly identifiable as coming from the entity the recipient signed up for. If the email is not clearly branded, recipients are likely to ignore it or mark it as spam.

Before you begin

First, make sure you are only sending mail to people who signed up to receive email from you directly, not addresses acquired in any other way. For more information, refer to our dedicated article on Best Practices for List Management.

Clearly aligning your emails with your organization

If you are sending email to people who signed up to receive mail from example.com, the following should always be true:

  1. The "From" address should be @example.com. This is the email address or domain you verified in your Joomag account.

  2. The email should clearly be branded as a message from example.com. Small footer text is not sufficient — prominently display your logo.

  3. Include a reminder of why the user is getting the message. For example: "You signed up to get mail from example.com on March 24, 2015."

  4. Avoid dummy text. Using placeholder text (like lorem ipsum) looks unprofessional and may trigger spam filters.

Keeping your sign-ups, "From" addresses, and branding aligned is essential for effective email marketing.
