Manage privacy settings of the publication collection

How to set default privacy, embedding rules, and country restrictions for all publications in a collection.

Written by David Aslanyan

Joomag offers flexible privacy settings so you can control who can access the publications in a collection.

  1. From My Publications, open the collection, click Actions in the top right corner, and hover over Default settings.

  2. Scroll down to the Privacy Settings tab and choose a visibility option:

    • Anyone: Anyone can browse your publications without restrictions.

    • Anyone with the link: Anyone with the link can access, but publications cannot be listed on the Newsstand.

    • Anyone who created a reader account: Any reader who creates an account gains access. Emails are added to your CRM automatically.

    • Only People I Choose: Access is limited to people you explicitly grant permission to.

    • Only People With Password: Access requires a password. As a publisher, you can access without the password when logged in.

  3. Choose where publications can be embedded.

If you choose Only on sites I choose, add the allowed domains. Enable Disable public links if needed.

Enable Bypass Privacy Restrictions to allow logged-in portal members to view embedded publications without privacy gates (direct link access remains restricted).

To add country restrictions, use the country privacy option: click Allow and type the country name to grant access, or click Deny to restrict access.

  4. To apply the settings to all existing publications in the collection, click Apply the privacy settings to all existing publications, review the settings, and confirm.

  5. Click Save and Close.

💡 All newly created publications in this collection will use the selected privacy level by default. You can always change the privacy of an individual publication. See also: Manage privacy settings of the publication.
