How to use the Campaigns section in Analytics to view and analyze readers who arrived from email campaigns.

Written by David Aslanyan

The Campaigns section in Analytics shows readers who visited your publications from email campaigns. It is part of the Acquisition analytics module.

  1. Navigate to Analytics on the left sidebar.

  2. Use the dropdown menu on the right to select Acquisition, then go to the Campaigns subsection.

  3. Apply the main filters:

    • Select the collection name.

    • Specify the date range (default: last 7 days).

💡 To check analytics for a specific reader, enter their email address in the Reader field. You can also use filters and segmentation for in-depth data.

  4. The chart shows active readers from campaigns by day/week/month. Hover over dots to see the count for a specific day. Use Week/Month buttons for a broader view.

  5. Scroll down to choose dimensions. The Primary Dimension is Campaign. Optionally add a Secondary Dimension (Country, City, Continent, Device Category, Mobile Device Branding/Info/Marketing Name/Model, or Browser).

  6. Review reader stats by campaign:

    • Readers: Readers with at least one session from the campaign in the date range.

    • New Readers: First-time readers from the campaign in the date range.

    • Pageviews: Total pages viewed by readers from the campaign (repeated views counted).

    • Bounce Rate: Percentage of single-page readers from the campaign with less than 10 seconds of activity.

    • Pages / Reader: Average pages viewed per reader from the campaign.

    • Avg. Time Spent per Reader: Average viewing duration per reader from the campaign.

    • Subscribed: Readers from the campaign who identified themselves via a subscribe form or plugin.
